In reaction to recently surfaced objections to the boundaries for Amissville’s proposed rezoning, the Rappahannock Supervisors voted unanimously at last Thursday’s Board meeting to send the matter back to the Planning Commission for further study.
Supervisor Chairman E. P. Luke reported that he had received several letters over the last month, protesting the boundaries recommended by the Planners. He noted that the Planning Commission had held a public hearing several months ago on the proposed boundaries. "I think it was poorly attended by the pebple from Amissville,” Luke commented.
He read a letter from Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Early, charging that the boundaries recommended by the Planners were disdminatory. The Early’s also took exception to a statement made by Fanning Baumgardner at the last Planner’s meeting. Baumgardner maintained then that Early’s Carpet was zoned RB-1. Mr. and Mrs. Early insisted in their letter that the property is zoned agricultural.
