Proponents ot tKA assure us that no such result is possible because of Supreme Court rulings on the right to privacy. But a Library of Congress analysis informs us that “because the U. S. Supreme Court has failed to define the right of privacy in clear-cut terms...it is difficult to ascertain exactly what the relationship between the proposed ERA and the right to privacy will be.” Those highly respected in law such as Prof. Philip Kurland of the University of Chicago Law School says that separate restrooms in public places will have to go, “unless the separate but equal doctrine is revived.”
Prof. Paul Freund of Harvard Law School has testified that if ERA is interpreted in keeping with the line of cases concerning racial segregation it "would require that there be no segregation of the sexes in prison, reform schools, public restrooms and other public facilities.”

The Rappahannock-Old Dominion Pony Club is sponsoring a competitive trail ride for juniors on Sunday, Nov. 13.
Riders will check in at 8 a.m. at Edgeworth Farm, Rt. 688, near Hume, in preparation for the 20-mile ride.
