The New Agricultural Bill provides for a 20 per cent wheat set-aside program. Under the provision of this bill a normal crop acreage will be established. This normal crop acreage (NCA) is based on the acreage of wheat, barley, corn, grain sorghum, oats, soybeans, and rye that was planted in 1977.

The 1978 wheat set-aside program is a voluntary program. It is a producer’s choice to participate or not to participate.

By participating a farm becomes eligible . for deficiency payments, disaster payments and price support loans. There will be no payment for set-aside acreage.

The following requirements must be met in order for a farm to be eligible for benefits:
