A strong increased effort by National Park Rangers to protect Shenandoah National Park’s bear and deer populations during this forthcoming hunting season has been announced by Superintendent Robert R. Jacobsen.
“Shenandoah National Park protects one of the most abundant populations of deer and bear in the State,” said Jacobsen. “Because of this, many hunters plan to hunt as close to the Park’s boundary line as possible, and numerous incidents have occured in which hunters have entered the Park illegally.
