Betty Wood can spot the tried and trues in a glance through her recipe collection. “They are the ones that are all tattered and torn,” said the RCHS home economics teacher whose husband, H.B. Wood, supplies her with all the fruit she can can and freeze from his Red Oak orchards. The recipes that have become her family’s old stand-bys all have two things in common: they’re easy and they preserve that wonderful fresh fruit flavor.
