James Madison and Abraham Lincoln were alive today, they would be crucified by the t.v. networks! In this day and age it seems the love of money has taken precedent over the love of objective, competent reporting.
It seems incredulous how a president who was for women’s rights, for minority rights, for environmental protection, for the public school system, for the Salt II peace treaty, and pro the working blue collar class of America could be so unjustifiably persecuted.
Carter’s only crime was caring too much for too many in too short a time. Perhaps if he would have spent more time in Plains, Georgia, instead of Camp David and the White House, and perhaps if he had paid someone to write his speeches, instead of being intelligent enough to write his own, and perhaps if he had socialized and compromised his integrity with the over-paid bureaucrats of Washington, and perhaps if he had spent his early years making grade “B” movies rather than spending his time in the navy, on a nuclear submarine and helping with the family business, perhaps if he had been a womanizer, rather than a family man, and perhaps if he had been an atheist rather than a Christian man who taught Sunday School for 25 years, he just might have won the favors of the news media, consequently the American public, consequently the presidency for a second term.
In the words of James Boren, founder of the International Association of Professional Bureaucrates, “When in doubt-mumble, when in trouble-delegate, when in charge-ponder”. The present administration is definiately living up to this man’s advice.
Wake up America, you’ve been napping too long!
