The 1983 Virginia Championship Apple Butter Making Contest will be Saturday, September 17, at the Winchester Recreation Park in Winchester. The 6th Annual Contest is held in conjunction with the Rotary Club’s “Apple Harvest Festival” scheduled for September 17th-18th.
The contest is open to any individual or group who makes apple butter. Apple butter must be made on the site and will be judged on Sunday, September 18.
First prize will receive $400 and a trophy, second prize $200, third prize $100, fourth prize $50 and fifth prize $25.
