Parents of younger children are also asked to send them by bus rather than driving them to school. Piper says children make a smoother adjustment if they ride the bus on the first day.
They will be met at the bus and their bus number will be recorded on their arms with magic marker so they can be directed to the proper bus at the end of the day. The pupils will be escorted in groups from the buses to the cafeteria where they will meet their teachers.
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 24, with early dismissal time at 2 p.m.
Registration will not be accepted on fee day or during the first three days of school. Piper says that new registration causes unnecessary confusion at busy times. School officials prefer that parents register their children before fee day, but will accept new registration on Tuesday.
