The CFS will be phased in over a four-year period, Godsey said. In 1984, each county office is scheduled to use the CFS with at least 10 borrowers. In 1985, 25 percent of the borrowers in each county office should be using the new system with the number increasing to 65 percent by 1986. During the 1987 crop year, all borrowers should be using the CFS.
The local FmHA county supervisors have been trained in the use of the CFS and are now able to assist borrowers going on the new system.
