It was a “Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” performance last Friday as the Rappahannock Panthers defeated the Brentsville Tigers, 8869, in a Bull Run District basketball contest.
“We played poorly the first half, letting Hyde prevail,” said coach Doyle Dawson. “But Jekyll won out in the second as we touched our potential,” he added.
While the rest of the team alternated between Jekyll and Hyde, forward Clarence “Perkins” Pendleton was nothing but Jekyll. Pendleton was outstanding, scoring a season high 25 points while hitting 10 of 18 from the field and connecting on five of eight from the free throw line. “I hit my first three tries which gave me confidence in my outside shot,” said Pendleton. "That helped a lot and it also made me work for the ball.”
