Pancakes
The Winchester Kiwanis Club is now accepting entries for its 1984 Spring Pancake Day Race.
The 10 kilometer road race will be held on Saturday, March 24, with the starter’s gun set to go off at 11 a.m. The course winds through the city’s park and streets over rolling, slightly hilly terrain.
Special awards will be given to the first male and female runner overall with plaques going as well to the first five finishers in each age group of both male and female divisions.
A ticket for a pancake dinner will be given to every entrant at check in. Additional tickets will be available ($2.50 in advance, $3 at the door). Tickets are good all day until 7 p.m. and entitle the holder to all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, coffee and milk.
Entry fee is $5 through March 17, $6 thereafter. For an entry form, contact George J. Reed, 114 W. Boscawen Street, Winchester, Va. 22601, telephone 6650608 (office) or 662-3791 (home).
