Peggy Woodward says she and another mother, Mrs. Melvin Jordan of Huntly, spent just three days raising the money for new basketball uniforms for the RCHS girls’ team. A lot of parents had spoken with the athletic director John Toth about replacing the old junior varsity uniforms, Woodward says, but the money wasn’t in the budget. Still, everyone agreed the junior varsity uniforms had seen too many games.
“A lot of parents wouldn’t let their girls wear the uniforms because they were so small. I was one of those parents," said Woodward. She and Jordan decided something had to be done.
