To the editor:
I would like to commend the efforts and accomplishment of George Kid well, Sr. by providing cardiopulmo^ nary resuscitation (CPR) to Mrs. Jacobs’ on December 31 and thereby saving her life. Citizen CPR is a vital link in the emergency medical sendees system.
To be effective, CPR should be a part of a community wide effort of emergency cardiac care (ECC) that smoothly intergrates basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) and postresuscitation care for the patient.
I would like to quote from the Journal of the American Medical Association publication on Standards and Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC).
