The Generals scored one before losing the offensive position to Rappahannock. Things looked bright as Karen Jordan, one of RCHS’s ace servers, stepped to the line. Jordan scored with her first shot and the spectators could feel confidence and momentum swing to the Panthers’ side. But the referee stepped in to announce that Jordan had served out of order. The Panthers lost the point and the ball — and their spirit. Dejected, they allowed Stonewall to chalk up five easy points, giving the visitors the set, 9-15, and the match, 1-2.
