Last Friday, Roger Jenkins presented Toth the check for approximately $300 on behalf of Randolph Clater and the Sperryville Corner Store. In turn Toth commended Clater for his interest in school athletics.
Clater also established a Best Athlete Award fund last May and plans to contribute enough in the spring to buy a trophy to begin honoring outstanding athletes at the high school this year according to Toth. The current balance in the award fund is $258.21, Toth added.
“This is all coming at a time when the athletic budget is lower than it’s been since I'Ve been athletic director,” Toth said, pointing out that attendance has been down for home games. The school district pays the driver and furnishes a bus for trips away, Toth said;
