Several drivers were relieved to have their charges reduced during the January 24 session of General District Court. Some presented calibrations as proof, others successfully argued that their speedometers weren’t properly working when the police pulled them over.
Joseph Pullen got his case postponed when he said the weather had prevented the mechanics from checking his. The electronic equipment for calibration of speedometers is damaged if it’s used on a wet day, Pullen told the judge.
His case was postponed until Valentine’s Day. “Hope we have a dry day before then,” he said.
“Hope we have a few,” said the judge.
