The plan for the gifted and talented program was the sutgect of extensive discussion by the Rappahannock County School Board Tuesday night.
A report on the plan was presented to the board. The report included the Virginia Department of Education's requirements for gifted and talented programs, how Rappahannock’s plan will fulfill those requirements, what the program will involve, how gifted students will be identified, what will be offered to those students, and how teachers will implement the dan.
The original Virginia Plan for the Gifted was approved in I960. The plan was revised in 1963-84. Local school districts must comply with all of the requirements of the state plan by July 1966.
