Volunteers fill numerous vital roles at the Center. There are always fund-raising programs going on that require additional help: elegant country dinners, spaghetti dinners and the annual auction. These projects require a myriad of talents: typing, research, addressing envelopes, stuffing envelopes, cooking, cleaning, picking up items, selling tickets and more. In doing these jobs, King says volunteers ensure the success of the Center’s special events.
It also takes many hands to put on a successful fund-raiser, and the more volunteers, the quicker the tasks are accomplished and the more fun for everyone, King says. Even the Center’s botud of directors comprises people donating their time and talents to the smooth operation of the Center, she adds.
“It’s amazing how many people who already lead busy lives can find the time and devotion to lend a hand to the many aspects of providing support to this non-profit organization,” King says.
