Apple juice and apple rider are both the pressed juice of one or more varieties of apples. It is how the juice is treated after pressing that determines which is apple juice and which is apple rider.
Apple juice is a product that is usually pasteurized and packed in vacuum sealed containers. Some processors remove only the heavy apple pulp in the liquid, resulting in a cloudy juke; most use a clarifying process to make a clear product. This pasteurized product may also be labeled “apple rider", or “sweet rider”.
