“I still say that many of our teachers, or all of than, are doing it already, but if it takas assurance then a course lain the offing.” Campbell said that the course on how to teach gifted and talented students could be offered as early as next week. “It’s gong to be a methodology course on methods to deal with gifted and talented students, and we feel that it’s going to be a good course for everyone."
There are also future plans to help parents understand the gifted and talented program. “It would be what parents can expect in the way of an offering in the schools, and perhaps an evening workshop for parents on how to deal with gifted and talented youth and what the parents can do at hone,” said Campbell. “They have to understand that we’re all in this together and that this is not a one shot deal for the schools, but that we have to have the parents, the community, and the schools working together to get the youngster challenged as he should be.”
