VR-1754 • one of several military training routes in the state - was established several yean ago. Beginning on the Eastern Shore, it crosses the Chesapeake Bay, Tidewater and Piedmont (and Rappahannock), before crossing the Blue Ridge. It then proceeds west toward Elkins, W. Va., before turning southeast, recrossing Virginia and terminating near Charlottesville.
