James Henry Barb, 74, of Edinburg, died Wednesday, October 31 in Shenandoah County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Jerome, by the Rev. Randall A. Chapman. Burial was in the church cemetery. _
Mr. Barb was born October 7, 1910, in Glady, West Virginia, son of the late Noah Henry and Florence Wesse Barb. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a retired carpenter from C.E. Thompson and Sons in Edinburg.
Surviving are his wife, Laura Florence Miller Barb; his step-mother, Delma Crider Barb of Macanie; four sons, Hubert H. Barb of Charlottesville, Carl Barb of Boston, Va., Curtis W. Barb of Edinburg and Robert M.. Barb of Standardsville; a daughter, Geraldine F. Gunter of Nebo, N.C.; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Also surviving are a sister, Masie Froiland of Champlain, Minn; two brothers, Ernest Barb of Edinburg and Wilbur Barb of Venice, Calif, and two half-brothers, Narval Barb of Fulks Run and Fred Barb of Smithfield.
Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock was in charge of the arrangements.
