ically pointed to the present end-ofthe-era-times when the larger ' temple—the planet Earth itself this time—would be cleansed of the oppression of selfishness, greed and special interest.
Jesus commanded us to render unto God what belongs to God (worship), and to give unto our government what belongs to it (civic duty). And the Bible offers its own comment on his teaching in the book of Daniel (chapter six), where the government attempts to take control of worship by placing restrictions upon it. The lesson is that we are required to continue in our practices of worship' even, when this brings us into open violation of the law, just as Daniel did.
How much better it is though, if by exercizing our civic duty to cherish and protect the Constitution and its freedoms from the attacks of its enemies, we can avoid igniting the tribulation of religious persecution even when its right on our doorstep as predicted. How much better if we can convince our supposed representatives—the supervisors—that we have no need for them to act for us as parents protecting ' us from a “Halloween” of future evils (and the joys) of growth and progress as neighbors in Rappahannock County, on this planet Earth which God has provided for us.
Let us convince them, too, that we have no need for them to act as our Big Brother, guiding us and “educating” us about the realities of life (and of zoning). Because we have in heaven a Trinity which performs those functions for us. Because God is truly a father, a mother, and an older sibling to each one of us. And we are to be guided by the spirit alone.
Let’s ask the supervisors to admit that they, as humans, made a mistake. And let them account for their mistake by dismantling the comprehensive plan, the Planning Commission, and its panels, boards (as well as splinters), and establishing a more representitive committee comprised of people from all walks of county life. Let us as a county be not educated (propagandized) into accepting the old, corrupt way which through fear drives out perfect love, but let us as a community be born again into a life of freedom with responsibility.
Let’s welcome each other, along with our differences of race, sex, age, religion and lifestyle with open arms, even if it means that we must dose the doors to “new and responsible industry” with its added influx of population and its accompanying fast food and fast money ripoffs. Rappahannock County and its future belongs to all of God’s children who make it their home.
