Jeffrey Lee Fincham escaped from the Rappahannock County Jail at 5:48 p.m. on Monday, November 5 by climbing over a 12 foot fence topped by about 2 more feet of barbed wire.
Fincham was being held for sentencing on a breaking and entering charge when he climbed over the fence of the recreation yard. The Rappahannock County Sheriffs Department was assisted in the search for Fincham by local State police, and Trooper R.A. Baines was the first to spot Fincham in Washington.
Officers captured Fincham at 11:44 p.m. on Gay Street in front of the medical clinic. Sheriff J.H. Woodward said that he had no idea where Fincham went during the time before his capture. Fincham, who has already received a total of 49 years in prison for charges in Warren County and Frederick County, will be sentenced for the breaking and entering charge on November 12. i
