Conference On Farm Policy
A regional conference on *nrm policy being held Tuesday, March 5 at the Holiday Inn—Culpeper will feature speakers from Virginia Tech’s department of agricultural economics. Farmers, agribusiness managers, and leaders of farm organizations and agricultural agencies are planning to attend this conference. The registration fee is $7.00.
Conference subjects include issues in making agriculture marketoriented; proposed adjustments in feedgrain, soybean, and dairy programs; commodity programs and nonpoint pollution of the Chesapeake Bay; linkages between farm policy and world trade; and Virginia’s farm economy examined in a comparative advantage framework.
• Adult Courses Offered
Rappahannock County High School announces that two 30 hour adult courses will be offered at the school during the spring semester. The classes will be held on Wednesday nights 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. beginning March 6 and ending in mid May.
Introduction to cabinetmaking: Students will learn use of handtools, powerhand tools, and power machines in the design, building, and finishing of projects of the individual’s choice. Tuition is $15.00 plus the cost of consumable materials. *
Shorthand (part II): Students will continue from first semester course to read and write shorthand words, phrases, names, etc.
Advanced Typewriting: Students must be able to type at least 30 words per minute. Students will brush up on their skills and speed. Tuition is $15.00. Textbook cost is $12.00. Bring typing paper to class.
