During February, The Daughters of the American Revolution recall the name of Crispus Attucks, one of the most famous black patriots who gave his life for the “cause” of the American colonists against Great Britain. He was the first person killed by a British soldier during the Boston Massacre in 1770.
The Daughters of the American Revolution support the efforts of other American citizens to restore the Statue of Liberty to her original beauty. This statue was presented to the people of the “Etats-Unis d’Amerique” in a Paris ceremony July 4, 1884, in recognition of ties first forged during the American Revolution, between France and the United States.
