Emergency Medical Services grant. J The county paid the remaining 20 per- ] cent, and paid for the sheriffs radio. \ The Fire and Rescue Association has also purchased a generator for the jail and Sheriffs Department office that will supply electricity in the event of a power failure.
The county bought a Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD) so that the department can receive emergency calls from deaf people in the county who have the same machine. In November, the State Compensation Board began renting a teletype system for the Sheriff’s office. The teletype machine is used to run checks on license plates and vehicle registration, on stolen items and on wanted persons. The State Compensation Board authorizes positions and pays salaries for law enforcement personnel. ll(,
