Oatlands Plantation Opens
Oatlands Plantation will open the 1985 visitors season on Sunday, March 31, with its annual Loudoun County Day. Puppet shows, hay rides, jazz music, sheep dog herding and craft demonstrations, folk dancing and house and garden tours are some of the activities scheduled to appeal to all ages. If the w eather permits, tethered hot air balloon rides will be available at a reasonable price, as will a variety of refreshments. Hours on opening day are 12 to 5 p.m. Loudoun County residents are admitted free. Admission for non-residents is $4, adults; $3, senior adults and youth 7-18; free for children 6 and under. Folk Dance And Music Workshop Planned
A folk dance and folk music weekend workshop is being held at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center, March 22-24. The workshop will feature classes in International Folk Dance, Traditional Folk Dance, Novelty and Easy Mixer Dances and Traditional Folk and Blue Grass Music.
The registration fee is $8 which includes registration, instruction, instructional materials, lodging (linens and towels provided), Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner and Sunday breakfast.
The workshop is designed to be a fun leadership training experience for professionals and volunteers in 4-H and other youth related groups, recreational professionals and students and those who work with groups of any age and skill level.
