February when a Washington, D.C. station used film of her dancing for a news story on the auditions for King’s Dominion theme park.
“I was only on TV for 15 to 20 seconds, but it was still exciting since I was auditioning with about 5,000 other people,” Howard said. She has received a call-back from King’s Domin ion.
Howard plans to continue teaching, and after high school she plans to study dance in college. “I’ll probably go to a community college for the first year, and I’d like to get into a dance company,” Howard said. “I’m also going to participate in dance workshops in D.C. to better my style and technique.”
Martha Graham is Howard’s favorite dancer “because I love her technique for modem dance,” Howard said. Modem and .jazz are Howard’s first loves in dancing although she teaches the full dance range.
Howard also has an interest in computers, but most of her time is spent in working towards her long range goal. “I want to dance someday in a Broadway show, and more specifically in Cats," Howard said.
