at odds over delegates
The local campaigns of the two Republican gubernatorial candidates were at odds this week over who won Friday night’s GOP mass meeting in Leesburg.
The disagreement has been common in many areas of the state as the two candidates, former state legislator Wyatt B. Durrette Jr. and 8th District U.S. Rep. Stan Parris, look for support from delegates who will go to the State Republican Convention in Norfolk May 31-Junel.
Local Durrette supporters contended Monday that their man got 101 of the 186 Loudoun delegates elected, and they even released a list of the people whom they say are committed to Durrette.
