Albemarle hosts
daffodil show
The Garden Club of Virginia will present the 51st annual daffodil show April 10-11 in Charlottesville.
Sponsored by the Albemarle Garden Club, the show is set at the Amvest Worrell Hanger on Route 606 near the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport.
The new and exciting location is a perfect backdrop for the daffodil show’s theme: To fly.
The show is free and open to the public on Wednesday, April 10 from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Awards will be presented by Mrs. Benjamin W. Mears Jr., president of the Garden Club of Virginia, at 3:30 p.m. April 10.
All interested people are invited to exhibit in specified horticultural classes. For exhibitors, advanced registration and schedule of classes and rules may be obtained from Mrs. Robert Englander, 1 Tennis Road, Farmington, Charlottesville, Va., 22901 or by calling 804-293-8988.
Advanced registration is requied for all artistic classes and can be made no later than March 20.
