Democratic Party Mass Meeting
The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee hereby announces that it will hold a mass meeting at 12 Noon on Saturday, 30 March 1985, at the Courthouse, Washington, Va., for the purpose of electing delegates and alternates to the 7th District Democratic Convention to be held at 12 noon on 27 April 1985 at James Monroe High School, Fredericksburg, Va. and,the State Demagg/fa Convention to be held on 7-8 June 1985 at the 'MChmohd Coliseum in Hioimond, Va.
The 7th District Convention will nominate twenty (20) persons to the 7th District Democratic Committee and three (3) persons to the Permanent Rules and Permanent Credentials Committee of the 1985 State Democratic Convention.
The 1985 State Democratic Convention will nominate a candidate for Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia. It will also elect a Chair, First Vice Chair, Second Vice Chair, a Vice Chair for Development and Organization, a Vice Chair for Finance, a Secretary and a Treasurer of the State Democratic Committee. The Convention may also consider any business which may properly come before it.
Any registered voter who signs a certification form stating that he or she is a Democrat, and does not intend to support any candidate who is opposed to the Democratic nominee in the next ensuing election, and is not a member of any other political party may participate in the Mass Meeting. Certification forms must be filled out at the meeting site prior to noon. No person may complete a form after this time with the exception of those persons in line to do so at the above mentioned time. *
