Fringe benefits proposed by Estabrook for the seven administration members were discussed by the Board. One of the benefits proposed was for each administrator to have a membership in a professional organization provided for in the budget.
Estabrook said that the maximum cost per person for a year’s membership in some organizations would be $200. School Board member Bill Oliver made a motion that a maximum of $100 per person be allowed for professional memberships, and that the memberships be in the name of the Rappahannock County School System. The motion was passed.
Under the proposal, administrators would be able to take a three week vacation after three years of service and a four week vacation after 10 years of service. Updike amended the proposal so that for one to five years of service an administrator could take two weeks off, for six to 10 years of service three weeks of vacation would be allowed and for 11 years and over an administrator could take four weeks of vacation time. “That way we can recognize those folks who have more years of
