After a day and night sightseeing and resting in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the group will journey by tour bus through the French province of Alsace to the great cathedral city of Strasbourg. Highlights of the visit to Alsace will include a walk through Riquewihr, a beautifully preserved 16th century wine-making village and a tour of the Chateau du Haut-Koenigsbourg, a feudal castle restored by Kaiser Wilhelm II.
From Alsace, the tour will head south into Switzerland, with a two-day stop in Lucerne. From Lucerne there will be an excursion to nearby Mt. Pilatus. In what promises to be the best adventure of the trip, the students will climb to the top of the 7000 foot mountain by cogwheel train, cross the chasm in a cablecar and descend the mountain in a chairlift.
