The Rappahannock News welcomes to its staff internationally known food critic Jon Klaverkamp (oddly enough the editor’s namesake - no relation, however). Unfortunately, Klaverkamp’s reputation has yet to flower on the east coast of the United States where he is all but unknown. This is difficult to explain given the household familiarity of his name in Europe and parts of Asia.

Upon entering Brambles last Saturday night I was promptly greeted, seated and - if you haven’t guessed - to a sumptuous meal treated.
This is neither poetry nor a joke. The experience was truly memorable and rare, far surpassing the culinary offerings of neigboring counties.
