In other writing projects, McCarthy was asked by a Los Angeles newspaper to review the advance text of Nixon’s upcoming book No More Vietnams. Was the book any good? “It’s pretty miserable stuff.”
Busy with a heavy writing schedule and some lecturing, McCarthy does not consider himself retired. Infact “I do all the things I used to do as a Senator except vote and eat a big lunch everyday.”
