In their April 1 meeting the supervisors will begin to review the proposed budget for the 1985-86 school year. We know they will devote time to the question of how much the county can afford to spend on education.
We hope they will be equally devoted to another question, namely: What the county’s children cannot afford to lose. What they cannot afford to lose is education—good education.
The issue here is quality of life. Education or lack of it is what a child will carry around in his mind for a lifetime. The importance of that is immense, it cannot be overestimated.
