Local performers at RAAC
celebration
Some of Rappahannock County’s most popular local performers will appear at the community Christmas celebration this Saturday evening, December 21 at the Gay Street Theatre.
Two well-loved Rappahannock orators will provide dramatic readiftgs: Waldren O’Connor from a holiday classic; and Eugene McCarthy from a commentary of his own on Christmas in Rappahannock.
Angie Howard will present her school age tap dancers in a Christmas carol choreographed for little feet.
Jimmy Freeman will lift his heart-warming voice in a seasonal song, and Vincent Day and Terry Waggener will perform an instrumental selection.
The live performances follow the lighting of the tree in front of the Rappahannock court house at 6:00 p.m.
The Community Christmas celebration, under the direction of Don Bomberger, is sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC).
The Rush River Company is sponsoring the showing of the movie, Scrooge, immediately after performances. All of the Christmas events are free and open to the public.
