Garlic Powder to Taste. Dash Worcestershire Sauce. Scrub cucumber to remove wax. Grate the unpeeled cucumber, and drain very well until almost dry. (Drain yogurt in cheesecloth.) Combine with other ingredients. Serve with crackers. Yield: 1 3/4 cups. Approximate Calorie Per Serving: 1/2 cup-45 1 Tablespoon-5.
Cranberry Bread
2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour. 1/2 Cup Wheat Germ. 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar. 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder. 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda. Zest of 1 Grated Orange. 1/2 Cup of Orange Juice. 1/2 Cup of Oil. 1/4 Cup Warm Water. 2 Cups Cranberries, Chopped. In a large bowl, mix the first 5 ingredients. Set aside. In a separate bowl beat together orange zest, orange juice, oil and water. Stir into dry ingredients. Add cranberries and mix well. Pour batter into a 9x5x3-inCh loaf pan sprayed with vegetable cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Remove bread from pan and place on wire rack to cool. Bread slices better the second day. Yield: 16 Slices. Approximate Calorie Per Serving: 115.
Banana Bread
1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour. 1/2 Cpp Sugar. 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder. 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda. 1/2 Teaspoon Salt. 1/2 Cup Wheat Germ. 3 Medium, Very Ripe Bananas, 1/4 Cup Buttermilk. 1/4 Cup Oil. 4 Egg Whites. Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix in the wheat germ. Add all remaining ingredients and beat until well blended. Place in an oiled 8x4-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour, or until done.
