“On the farm, it’s called harvest. It’s animal husbandry, (a practice) 13,000 years old,” he said, adding that farmers traditionally include their children, particularly their male children, in the annual fall butchering of livestock. “I’ve met city people who think milk comes in a carton,” he said, adding that urbanites are often ignorant of the realities of food production.
Dr. Adams, who maintains a holistic medical practice in Arlington, hesitated to describe himself as the “family doctor” to the Finders. “They don’t have a family doctor, but when they call a doctor, I might be the one they’d call,” said the University of Virginia medical school graduate.
The six children in protective custody in Florida are all Finders’ children, he said. “I’ve seen every one of those children,” Dr. Adams noted, emphasizing that none showed signs of abuse or neglect in past visits.
