Surviving are his wife Lucy D. Wood, a son Charles Dudley Wood of Gaithersburg, Md., a daughter Frances Ruffher Charles of Birmingham, Ala., abrother Charles B. Wood of Blacksburg, a sister Nellie Smith of North Garden, and three grandchildren.
A graveside service was conducted Feb. 11 in the Washington Masonic Cemetery by the Rev. Merlin W. Shorb.
Honorary pallbearers were W. A. Buntin, James Cowgill, Herbert Foster, Aubrey North, Robert Rust and Emory Russell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Flint Hill United Methodist Church or the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
