The Culpeper-Piedmont Choral Society still has a few openings for singers who can read four-part choral music. Rehearsals are held each Monday at 7:80 p.m. at the Precious Blood Catholic Church, 401 N. Main St., Culpeper.

Persons interested in being considered for membership should arrive at the rehearsal by 7:15 p.m. next Monday.

The chorus, directed by Lois Shanks, will present a spring concert in May tracing the history of popular music from Civil War times to the 1950s.

This choral society is one of several in the greater Washington area being included in the European Music Festival to take place in Warsaw, West Berlin and Amsterdam next July. There are also some openings in this Festival Chorus which will soon begin learning Beethoven’s 9th Symphony.

For more information about singing in either or both of these choruses please call 825-0282 (Culpeper), 672-5462 (Orange), 3470641 (Warrenton) or 972-7101 (Locust Grove/Fredericksburg).
