There are many factors that you can control to reduce yur risk of high blood pressure.
One of these factors is diet. If you weight significantly more than your ideal body weight, your physician might advise cutting down on calories. As a person loses weight, blood pressure often drops automatically.
Sometimes reducing sodium intake can help lower blood pressure. A reduced-sodium diet will mean avoiding salty foods, processed foods and controlling the amount of salt used in cooking and at the table.
