This year is no exception, with not only the town’s merchants, but its civic organizations, churches and other groups planning to participate as well. Several of the town’s churches will have baked goods and other items for sale, and the Sperryville Fire Department and the Sperry ville Volunteer Rescue Squad will be fixing hamburgers, hot dogs and other food for hungry festival-goers.
And during the festival’s hours, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., there will be nonstop entertainment at several locations around town. The Fearless Airbom Conjury will provide magic with a smile, as well as juggling and other feats of derring-do.
There will be folk, gospel and country music, and the Orange County Cloggers will perform during the afternoons.
At other locations there will be demonstrations of country cooking, including apple butter boiling, and tastings from one of the Commonwealth’s newest industries, its wineries.
Many of the town’s merchants will be offering special sales to observe the Springfest, and all will be open during the festival’s hours. Although the Springfest will not be held on Monday, Memorial Day, most of the town’s shops will be open for business.
