Ms. Mahan’s work includes black and white landscapes and hand-colored plant forms. “The subject matter of my work is unimportant. My concern is the composition and design.” She plays with colors, creating lily pads in pastel hues and an outside bath-tub with delicately tinted flowers in the water. Black and white landscapes of the desert are shown also. Her work has been exhibited in Washington, D.C., at the Kathleen Ewing Gallery and in Tennessee and California.
