Jenkins family reunion
The families of the late Aubrey and Ellen Baker Jenkins will hold their sixth annual family reunion Sunday, July 10, at the Rappahannock Park, Rt. 211, Washington. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m.

4My Life As A Dog’
The movie My Life as a Dog will be playing at the Gay Street Theater on Saturday and Sunday, July 9 and 10, at 7:30 each evening. Bursting with energy and humor, this fdm is a sharply drawn coming-ofage film about a rambunctious 12-year-old boy named Ingemar. Because of his mother’s grave illness, Ingemar gets shipped to live with his relatives. Full of apprehension, Ingemar soon makes many startling discoveries - that the tiny village he moved to is bursting with sexual energy, that adults are as wacky as children, and that the village’s star athlete is a girl disguised as a boy. Through the accumulation of sly and funny observations, this film is, finally, a celebration of the mysteries, the joy, and the pain of growing up. Swedish with English subtitles. Art history film at Gay St. Theater
The sixth film in the “Shock of the New” series about the nature and purpose of art in the 20th century will be shown Monday, July 11, at 8 p.m. at Washington’s Gay St. Theater. Entitled “The View From the Edge” the movie takes a look at Expressionism including van Gogh, Munch, Kokaschka, Soutine, Bacon as well as abstractionists Marc, Klee, Brancusi, Rothko and Pollock. There will be an informal discussion after the movie. The series is sponsored by Middle Street Gallery through the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities. Admis-, sion is free.
‘Heart to Heart’
“Heart to Heart,” an educational meeting for people with heart disease and members of their families, will be held Wednesday, July 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fauquier Hospital Education Center. Donna Dicharry, RN, MSN, director of Fauquier Hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation program, will present Exercise For A Healthy Heart - In Our Community, What Can We Do? Following the presentation there will be an opportunity for open discussion. The free program is co-sponsored by Fauquier Hospital and the American Heart Association.
