“We owe it to everybody to take a long, hard look at this thing,” said Chairman Hubert Gilkey as the supervisors on Tuesday unanimously directed County Administrator John McCarthy to put in draft form his ideas for a zoning ordinance amendment to create a settlement overlay zone with a one-acre minimum lot size for family subdivisions.
The impetus came from Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Atkins’ proposal to subdivide a one-acre lot for a daughter from their 2.1acre parcel on the Fodderstack Road.
