Most people have met other individuals who seemed always to want things to go their own way, always to have their own point of view accepted by the rest of the family or social group.
Interestingly, the aggressive individual is often the one with a low self-image, little confidence, or in some other way emotionally needy. They think that they are coming across in the opposite way by bullying, forcing their opinion, or otherwise trying to impress other people with their knowledge and ability.
On the other hand, all of us have been in situations where the unintrusive knowledge and guidance of someone else, offered in a patient and non-threatening way, left us with warm feelings toward that person. These situations are often the most productive for all the individuals involved.
