Wakefield School has received notice from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association that the 1989 Talisman, the school’s literary magazine, has earned the Medalist Award again this year.
The medal was awarded along with All-Columbian Medals in all four categories of judging: concept, content, design, and creativity. The judges felt that this issue of the magazine was so beautiful that it should be judged in the literary-art category; as such, it placed even higher than last year’s issue, receiving 972 out of the possible 1,000 points. “I was tremendously impressed with this magazine,” wrote a judge, “as I was first a reader held captive and then later a judge.”
