Basket workshop

An introductory basket weaving workshop will be held at Middle Street Gallery in October. In the three session class you will learn to weave baskets using various techniques and local materials. Dyeing and collecting of basket fibers will be covered. Fee is $48 and includes all materials. The class will run Thursday evenings 7-9 p.m. Oct. 12, 19 and 26. PTA meeting

There will be a PTA meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. Robert Chappell will discuss the county’s Remedial and Chapter I educational programs. Other PTA topics will be discussed also.

Child development course

Lord Fairfax Community College is sponsoring an Introduction to Child Development Course, a 3-hour college credit course at The Child Care and Learning Center beginning Thursday, Oct. 5. General Grant at Trading Post

The Trading Post on U.S. 211 west of Washington will sponsor a visit by Indian artisan General Grant, Cherokee-Sioux. His boned handled knives and silver jewelry will be among the many things he will be displaying Sat. and Sun. Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
